Best Beaches in Atlantic City
1. Atlantic City Beach and Boardwalk
Beachfront. Casinos. Dining. Entertainment. Shopping. Atlantic City really does have it all, and we're not just saying that. This city has been a popular East Coast tourist attraction since the 1870s, and though it's had hard times, it's still a fabulous place to indulge in your favorite beach activity, whatever that may be.
And don't be turned off by the casinos if you're looking for a family-friendly place. There's plenty to do here for people of all ages.
Sandcastles and CasinosLet's start with the beach itself. The Atlantic waters invite surfers, kayakers, parasailers, windsurfers and fishers. The beachfront is long, wide and impressive, and there's plenty of room to spread out a big beach towel and not feel crowded.
To get your heart pumping, start a game of volleyball, or take a long walk along the famed historical boardwalk, accessible by any spot along the beach.
Bright lights and playful architecture will call to you as you pass, and if you feel like getting the star treatment, venture into one of the casinos for a little action, or at least a cocktail.
After DarkAs can be expected in a town that caters to visitors, your dining and nightlife options will be seemingly endless. If you're in the mood to treat yourself, get a table at one of the 5-star restaurants and have the meal of a lifetime.
Otherwise, grab a slice of pizza or a burger from one of the cafes fronting the boardwalk. For dessert, wander into a sweet shop and sample some saltwater taffy.
Late night crowds converge at lounges and clubs such as Toga Bar, Mountain Bar and Boogie Nights, just a few options located along the beachfront near Playground Pier.
Craving a good cocktail? Count on a hotel bar to shake up your favorite libation — Teplitzky's, Evo Restaurant & Bar and Amada are all up to the task.
