1. Tobago Cays
A string of five uninhabited islands forming part of a marine park, the Tobago Cays are a natural escape boasting easy access to Horseshoe Reef and other breathtaking diving and snorkeling sites.
Want to experience pure tropical bliss? This unspoiled destination, with white-sand beaches and turquoise water, is ripe for relaxation and exploring. But be warmed: Its popularity has increased over the years, so you likely won't be the only visitor soaking in the lovely scenery.
Life AquaticThe water surrounding the rugged, hilly Tobago Cays is dotted with vessels — in fact, the cays were named the world's chicest yachting hot spot by Luxurious Magazine in 2013.
Travelers also come by cruise ship and head right away to the islands on snorkeling and diving excursions. Green turtles, spotted eagle rays, colorful soft and hard corals, sponges and a wide variety of fish species await just below the water's surface.
TipsWhile stunning, the Tobago Cays aren't equipped to provide all of travelers' needs, such as access to bathrooms, shade and refreshments, for example. Come prepared with everything you'll need. Also, bring some cash — there's a $4 user fee per person and a $17 charge for yacht mooring.
