Best Beaches in Pointe-a-Pitre
1. Caravelle Beach
Blessed with beautiful white sand and a protective reef that keeps waters calm, Caravelle Beach is a family-friendly expanse near the town of Sainte-Anne.
Snorkelers venture here, confident they'll spot something worth seeing in the translucent water. Sunbathers frequent this beach too, some of whom shed their swimwear at the first opportunity (nudity is tolerated on beaches in Guadeloupe).
Eat, Play, RelaxGot some energy to burn? A few businesses along the beachfront rent equipment for kite-surfing, windsurfing and sailing.
When you can't ignore your appetite any longer, dine at one of the handful of restaurants lining N4, the major road near the beachfront. Just need a quick bite? Wander over to L'Abri du Pirate, a rustic beachside creperie offering soothing views of the water.
AccommodationsThe most well-known resort in the area is Club Med La Caravelle, a four-star all-inclusive option with an oceanfront restaurant.
Be aware that most guests and staff speak French here; you may struggle a bit with English alone.
Not into the all-inclusive resort scene? Stay in quaint villas found scattered near the western end of the beach.
